I've just bought the HMS Black Prince I started and sold to another NABS member several years ago. It's battled locally teamed up with my HMS Minotaur, but hasn't seen action for about 4 years. The model's in great shape and will be converted to Treaty specs ASAP.

BP needs to be slowed down from 26 to 38 secs/100', probably by installing weaker motors and drag discs ahead of the props (it has only 2 shafts).

It'll be loaned to Ralph Coles until he builds a Treaty model for 2009. If we attend the Mass. event this fall I'll be using the slightly larger armoured cruiser HMS Minotaur.

Both hulls came from my Duke of Edinburgh/Warrior armoured cruiser mold, now owned by Tugboat. The Minotaur hull was made from a 'stretched' Warrior hull (1" longer).

    Bad Bob

Good to hear Bob. I think I've seen pictures posted of the model. I always liked the Blucher. Thought it would be an interesting model.

Taubmans/Loyalhannah has a nice set of Blucher plans in 1:100.

I have a set on my "to be done" pile. I can soon make a log cabin out of that pile.

To be sure I have been interested in that ship since I saw the famous photo of Blucher capsizing at Dogger Bank.

I think we all have the "to be done" pile. I always though it was a very interesting looking ship.

No argument there. Especially with the tripod foremast.
