I measured the rudders on the plans for my Invincible. I came up with 1.5" by 2.5"! That's massive compared to the rudder area allowed for class 4 ships with twin rudders. And then I noticed the name George Goff up in the corner... Does anyone have some more reliable info on the rudder size for the Invincible class?

Best just to go with what the rules allow, unless you know someone with NMM plans...

Sent you an email with what the AusBG uses. Hope this helps.

He's going to be battling local to me in the near future :) As far as I know, no one in MWC has substantiated bigger rudders. If it's possible, hooah :)

If NMM does not have the plans (which would surprise me) they might have builders specs which would give the actual dimensions.

The rules allow him 2.5 (x1.5 for dual rudders) = 3.75 sq in. Haven't seen any I-boats suffering for lack of turning ability. For what the plans from the NMM would cost, I'd just go with that (which is what the rest of the I-boats in the MWCI fleet (and probably the IRCWCC fleet) are running. Of course, once he finishes Nuke School and gets his bonus money, he could buy the NMM plans and get them scanned in for the rest of us to enjoy ;) ;)

There are quite a few NMM plans I would love to get on my hard-drive of many things.

If we get back our pay cut in March I may look at getting some. Better yet, if the rumored raise materializes, get several :)

If the I-Boat class would have had larger than our scale rudders, someone would have found the documents for it by now. It's a pretty popular ship. You be supprised by the size of book and plans collections some guys have.

The Great Brouhaha data exchange. Need there be inky shadows? Many axis secrets passing to the allies and vice versa?

There may be inky shadows... masked by the delicious smell of grilling hamburgers. Allies eating food named for German cities :)

    I'll burn a DVD.

Sadly I don't have any of the archival standard DVD's at hand. ;)
