Thanks i have checked the map out already from whats on there the nearest person to me is over an hour away
Welcome aboard! In this particular hobby, having someone within 2 hours is considered fairly close. We're kind of a niche hobby. @Bob will probably be able to tell you if there is anyone slightly more local to you than what is up on the map so far.
Yea ive kinda noticed its a pretty spread out hobby maybe once i get a ship built and get it out on the water i can attract some attention and get something started round here I know the perfect event to bring my ship to once its built theres a big event every wednesday during the summer tons of people gather round this lil pond theres music and all sorts of activities perfect place to get something started
MN is a hot bed for battlers. We have 8-15 ships at most local events. We battle every month there is open water. During the winter we have group building days. Typically we have 5-6 guys go to Nationals and the big Regional in MO. Our main pond is marked on the map. If central MN is near St Cloud Jason & Dave live up there. Ron, Curly, Eric, Brian, Travas & Connor live around Anoka and other northern suburbs. Tyler is out by Hutchinson. Myself, Zach, Andy, Peter, Mike, Steve & Matt are all in the south suburbs.
Yea i live in st joseph just a few miles from st cloud wud definently like to get together with some other builders sometime maybe ill have finally found something interesting to do in this damn town
My original plan was to build a show ship anyways as until just a few days ago i didnt even know there was ship combat clubs and events at all i knew there were rc boat races and stuff never wudve imagined there wud be ship combat stuff tho
