I have a funny feeling that there was a couple of big midterms that didn't get studied for while this exhaustive research was being conducted?
Now why did my mind drift of to a George Carlin routine that birth control pill need catchy names... " Now here is a real man's product: Impregnable...."
I'm slowly beginning work on a list of Marus. It'll be similar to the I-boat list, but I have to work on my Japanese vocabulary and Kanji first. For example, the Ou Maru (king's transport), not to be confused with Omaru (a toilet for potty-training kids). My tramp steamer is named Ou Maru, so that one is already taken, but I'm working on more. Tired of captured warships being used by the enemy, a common occurence during the Age of Sail, the British designed HMS Incompatible. Due to difficulties obtaining the correct parts for maintenance, they quickly went the opposite direction with HMS Interchangeable, which was considerably easier to work with. HMS Inescapable, HMS Inevitable, and HMS Ineludable were highly successful maintaining the blockade against Germany. They were far more successful than HMS Inapplicable and HMS Inable. There were significant boiler issues with HMS Incondensable and HMS Incompressible. The engineers are still having trouble determining the power and displacement of HMS Incalculable. Still, those three ships got further along the design process than HMS Inconceivable. I'm glad I'm not on the crew of HMS Incinerable...
For shame! I simply told a pack of highly-trained hampsters to look for *ble, arranged the results alphabetically, and combed through the "I" section. They did all the hard work of searching through dozens of different dictionaries in the first place. You didn't think I'd miss my all-important schoolwork to do something as trivial as compiling a list of names, did you?
Do you have names for any other class of ships, like the 'U' class such as HMS Unservicable, HMS Unusable, HMS Unreliable, HMS Uncontrollable and HMS Unsailable? J
