While sorting through plans last night I found a G3 drawing by Mike Deskin and a detailed plan for the WWII Lion Class. I think it would be possible to produce hulls for the G3, N3 and Lion by starting with a G3, cutting a G3 hull in half, shortening it by 3", and taking a mold from it to make the N3 hull, then doing the same to an N3 hull to make a mold for a Lion hull. The beams would have to be modified slightly but overall the hulls are similar except in length.

Anyone interested? It would be a good retirement project for next summer.

I looked at the plans and hull dimensions again yesterday. The WWII Lion Class and N3 battleship hulls differ only 1' in beam, have the same draft, and the N3 would have been only 29' longer (2.5" in 1/144 scale). The top and side view drawings of the hulls are very similar. I have the hull sections for the Lion and it would be easy to slightly increase the spacing between them to get 2.5" more length.

Due to great length (only 4' shorter than Hood) the G3 would probably not be popular but the Lion and N3 are of more reasonable size, N3 being about the same size as Richilieu and Vanguard. If there's enough interest I'll make an N3 hull next summer, shorten it by 2.5" and make a Lion mold.
