I am fully aware that this is really not the most effective ship out there, but I have always wanted one and I finally sat down to start drawing up the hull... Typical hassles on the end of the bow and stern that are easier to model when it is a full hull rather than half of one... other than that, the surface looks good.

so a related IRC rules question.... how to handle the following: The bulk of the superstructure is set back behind a thin shell with some large openings. I just don't know how to reconcile this with the rules today for stringers/casemates/hard area.

actually, re-reading the rules.... the floor where the torps are mounted is the weather deck per the definition of section 14.a, and the blister gets a stringer if necessary.

What ever is considered the weather deck will be the sink deck.

Definitely an oddball for combat with the predominant stern gunned cruisers, but not useless. Could be an IRCWCC convoy ship. Or, run bow guns if you wanted.

It will be interesting. Technically the b turret can rotate aft far enough to shoot into the aft quadrant, possibly even one barrel of c turret. Not completely sure if that would be in any way shape or form useful. It would be awful hard to aim. Only b turret can actually shoot over the bow straight ahead. None of the others can

Pretty sure via IRCWCC at least, you'd be able to have a single stern gun on the aft end of the ship from the superstructure/a secondary turret.

I know, dubious utility, but hey I like an oddball boat as much as the next guy.

Edit: this is incorrect, the rule states class 4 and above.

Well crap. I have a wooden hull for Tone under construction. I wasn't sure how I was gonna set up the guns, but that didn't stop me from starting the build.

Theres nothing wrong with a cruiser-sized Convoy ship! Tone is long enough to be a "Large" I believe, worth 550 points.

And I'm sure a creative captain could arm her, somehow, if they wanted to badly enough.

It's different, it gets my approval.

and this is one thing that really helps construction that is available in cad... Red is 45 degrees down or more. Red at the stern is just about at the floating waterline. and the horizontal blue line is 1 inch below the 11.5 pound floating waterline.
