Hi Guys Well this all started with Friday, my wife and I planned on leaving by 10 am and Don Fink was riding up with us to Scotts. Don showed up and we got everything but the Kitchen sink loaded in the camper , Boy good thing it comes with a sink!! Anyway off we were to Scotts, Eric and JJ both had life things to finish and would not be able to get up there till later around 8 pm. Kas was set to drive in that afternoon also. It was a nice drive , once we arrived we set up our trailer and got caught up in what was going on. Kas arrived , we decided to take a run over to the legion Hall and take a looksee , It is a very nice set up , they had a big fish feed and I think everyone in town was there so parking was packed. We got permission to use the road on the far side ,so that helped with the parking problem, looked over everything as to how we would set things up the next few days. Returning to Scotts we set up a charging stations and set up batteries and what ever to charge. Went to the little local Bar for some dinner , Scotts wife had a late shift, nice place and good food! Low and behold they were about to do karaoke !! We gave each other bad time and almost had Don talked in to doing I AM SO Pretty !! Oh well back to the shop and get ships ready , Eric had made it so we talked and worked on ships, Gary the rookie from Webster showed and we got some work done on his ship as well. JJ made it to a hotel room in Warsaw we would see him in the morning. Another late night , hit the bed around midnight. Sinking ships in our dreams ! Buddy
Ok Sports Fans !! Now I am not as young as a used to be so if I forget some thing or missed some thing join in !! Saturday started out with a run down for breakfast at Milford for pancakes and sausages at the community center , NICE !! Then we got back and loaded up , we were supposed to be at the pond at 9am and battle at 10am. Needless we were running late , the weather was cool with over cast sun tried to peek out. Being we got the permission to use the road on the far side of the pond and not use the parking lot it made it easier to get to. There was quit a few people there waiting for us to get going so we did our best to get on the water quickly. Sides started out with one being Blue tape and one being red tape. There was not enough to go Axis Allied so basically it was US against the world. Blue USS South Dakota--6 units USS Brooklyn------3 units USS Roanoke-------3 units Total-------------12units Red HMS Orion---------4 units HMS Indefatigable-4 units SMS VU------------4unts HMS Queen Mary ----4.5 units Total------------12.5 units USS Utah was having some issues that was sorted out later. In a hurry to get ships on for our watchers some didn't make it right off the bat. War was declared and the cameras started rolling !!The fast ships headed into harms way !! First to engage was Sodak a brief exchange between it and the VU and then salvos was exchanged with Orion !!Brooklyn ranged in the Indefatigable with hits scored on both sides, Roanoke engaged VU the pest !! Sodak then hunted Orion and scored hits breaking off to give Indefatigable some needed attention! These 2 did a turn and burn both landed salvos Vu stuck her head in the mix and got pounded by Sodak for interfering. Queen Mary finally entered the mix and was hunted by Sodak, few salvos from both sides but the Queen did the smart move by not standing toe to toe with the BB and kept on the move just ahead of Sodak. Brooklyn and Roanoke did the cruiser hit and run on many targets working the others and pinning engagements with Sodaks opponents on the far side. Giving them the sandwich feel !! Some where in the mix VU made a bad mistake and crossed the dual sterns of Brooklyn and then ran right into SOdak and her triple sterns !! The little BB was in a bad way and went to shore pumping hard, just made shore as the stern sank !! First sink !! Although according to the Duckman it was not caught on tape so it did not happen !! Darn camera was looking else where !! The battle slowed down with everyone pumping a good stream but not in trouble. Lots of folks came over to the pit area to have a look see and talk about what they saw. Reload and get on the water , Utah was still having problems and would join in later. Vu was allowed to rejoin her fleet. WAR !! Again the fast ships took the lead first to strike was Roanoke on Indefatigable both moving to get shots, Sodak engaged Queen Mary with side mounts. Brooklyn was being the opportunist and engaging where ever and who ever came around more so with the VU. Orion went to help Queen Mary and paid for it by taking Triple stern and then a broad side of side mounts for her trouble. Vu was taken by surprise by Sodak when VU and Orion tried to do a sandwich on Sodak although both BBs scored hits they got a lot more then they bargained for SOdak pumped rounds into both before slipping away. Mean while on the other side Queen Mary was listing and in trouble !!Brooklyn and Roanoke smelled blood and pressed the BC pumping more rounds at every chance into her and she yield and went down close to shore !! Sink #2 !!! More Later Buddy
