I have seen a few coastal battleships and pre-dreads, they are challenging but effective. Not sure about this particular one, though. photos or drawings would help.

Look up HNoMS Norge, Kotori. Some photos, and some general info in Wiki.

As for some below the waterline photos, this is all I could find.

Looking at it's dimensions, peders4d-2 , it looks like it's about 25.83" long and 4.25" wide in 1/144. Though it might be a challenging build, it could be possible.

In fast gun, they'd be classified as gunboats, I think. Too small to get labelled predreads.

I'd say, looking at different gunboats on the IRCWCC's ship list, it would probably be 1 unit with a speed of 28sec to a hundred feet. Probably not the greatest ship to fight with. :)

No :) maybe i maybe i should choose another boat, Cruiser or something as my first build. And save my drawings of the coastal battleship for next time.

While I maintain that I pick boats because they call to me, something with more firepower might be more fun on the water :)

It might be a sweet little boat in 1/96 though.

Neat little ship, but would fall outside of the 1905 and after date set by most formats.

Generally cruisers are the best starter boats for 1/144.
Here is a list of some of the better starter ships, plus places to get hulls. The Invincible is a battle cruiser, but it is known as a good starter ship as well as a excellent fighter. Not to mention pretty in my eyes. :)

    DKM Prinz Eugen http://battlersconnection.com/html/PrinzEugen.htm

    HMS Invincible http://www.strikemodels.com/products/ships/hms-invincible/

That is a good starting list but I would suggest also looking at SMS Defflinger and SMS Von Der Tann classes as well if you want to step up to a battle cruiser. Both are roomy enough for a first build and perform well on the water. In General, BC's make great starter ships as they large enough to be forgiving to build, are fast enough to escape when you need to, and offer sidemounted cannons which allows for a more versatile ship than a cruiser.

Thanks for the suggestions, Hovey. :) Added a few more ships that were regarded as pretty good starter ships.
