Anybody have Konig plans that I could have a copy of? Even a link to some would be great. :)
    Thanks,

Yeah, that is one alternative, but I want to see if anybody had free ones first. :)

They don't just sell the plans of course, but that would be a good option for them to go into.

I wonder if I contacted them, if they would sell just the plans? That might be something to look into. :)

It depends on who authored the plans, and their arrangement with BC. At Strike, we have some plans that we can only sell with kit, and we have other plans we can sell individually.

Most of BC's plans are from George Goff, and I don't believe that they can sell them separately from a hull. The plans do NOT come with hull frames drawings, either (since they're with a fiberglass hull)

I guess BC is a no go. I've looked around, and I can't find anybody that sells them.

I have some drawings of Konig but I don't think that I have a proper frames drawing.

Is this what you're talking about? http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=6464087952&searchurl=an%3Dkoop%2Bschmolke%26amp%3Bbsi%3D0%26amp%3Bds%3D30
And also, will they have a set of plans?

thats not the one, it might have some small plans, but not what I'm thinking of.

look for one named something like Planmappe: Ostfriesland und Konig or Planmappe: Nassau-Konig

Hmm, looked that up, and it a little pricey for me. If I can't find a pretty cheap set in four years, I have Baden plans, and will probably build one of those.

Maybe I'll find a cheap, or even free set sometime. If I do, I'll be sure to let you all know. :)

Taubman's has the plans for the Grosser Kurfurst, one of the Konig class. 22$ Theyre SMC plans, which I have not seen personally, but Im told theyre usually reasonable quality. You would need to rescale them, so figure on another 10$ at a copy shop.

How similar do you think the Baden and the Konig are? I have hull lines for the Baden, and top and side profile pictures of the Konig.

I'm wondering if I put the two together if it would be accurate enough?

You could probably fake it... but....

if you want a Konig badly, get the plans for the Konig. Plans cost is a small part of the overall picture, and proper plans are a big part of Doing it Right.

I'm really thinking about switching to the Baden. Overall, it's a better boat than the Konig. I'd get eight 15" guns over ten 12".

The Bayern class is an excellent choice.

Badens handle really well, too. Two rudders with one drive prop!
