Strike sells them and Ralph Coles might have a couple left. You can email me for Ralph's contact numbers.

Problem Spuds has is with a Swampy hull... it's 8" in the beam and casements are screwed up. VU should be 7.5" beam. That's why he's checking to see if there's a newer mold out there that is more accurate. Or he may just go wood.

    Lee,
Were you able to contact Ralph? I think he still has the mold for the VU. We've been in the deep freeze for several weeks so I'm sure it's too cold for him to use his workshop. If there are no VU hulls in stock it will probably be late March before he can make one.

Bob, is that the mold that Swampy used, or a new, corrected one? Otherwise, any new hulls thrown will have same issues as the one he already has

Yea it's the same hull mold..

I am going to either go with a VDT or make a VU wood hull.

No, Ralph made his own mold of the VU.

The Australians make a pretty good VU hull too. No gel coat, but pretty accurate.

That said, if Ralph is going to do another run, it would be the one to get.

Spudsy's VU hull looked like one of the Aussie ones. Of course, lots of people have made hulls in fiberglass with no gelcoat (myself included).

Ralph only makes hulls when he has orders - he rarely keeps any in stock other than the first hull from each mold. Contact him if you want a VU hull.
