What is the best way to make an air tight seal between metal and plastic threads? I have used a lot of pipe tape and the threads keep leaking.

Putting in a QD fitting for the air hoses that has 1/4" NPT metal threads into a plastic solenoid head that has plastic threads. Same size.

Metal on plastic usually seals well. I like to use pipe dope on my threads. You might give that a try.

Thanks. I'll give pipe dope a try. My issue is that in order to even get a remotley decent seal I am splitting the platic when tighten the fitting down too much.
