My first build.... Getting directions from Dad, but he tells me I have to do everything myself to be in the running for Rookie of the Year next NATS. I have his help with the photos too... Cutting out the frames We have 4 ships on the table at one time.....
Hello Josh Mississippi can be a vicious little boat when built right. I run one in the IRC and it routinely tangles with Nassaus. (More than one) Take your time and you will love it.
We got some more done on the ships yesterday. Marking where the frames are put. I used Dad's template for his ship to trace out mine... Cutting out the deck I traced off of Dad's deck some more... Cutting holes for the scroll saw Sanding off the paper from the Frames. Dad made me do his too for practice.... Gluing on the frames My ship is on the right..
Hello Joshua, As I am currently building my first ship as well(probably you will finish faster, though), I sadly have no advice other than have fun, and take your time. I think that the Mississippi is a beautiful ship, and it has a lot of history. You picked a great ship to build, in my opinion.
Looking GREAT, Josh! I wouldn't have known which was yours and which was your dad's without you telling us!
