I just pulled the foam out of the Bismarck turret mold. It looks GREAT!! I just painted the inside of the mold and will start coating it with my release agent. Then try to mold a few turrets. I'll post pictures of what I create. Hope they look like Bismarck turrets.

The Bismarck turret, 1st one, turned out very nice.
    Thanks,

I find that one layer of cloth is enough to make the turret nice and strong. It took the turret a couple of day to dry. Nice turret. Should take a bb very well.
    Thanks,

Sounds good. Sheeting the Courageous is driving me insane. I don't like these hull curves at all. My slab-sided Queen Mary hull is looking awfully appealing right now.

That's what made it so hard to get out of my Alabama. Very easy to sheet.

I cleaned up the turret last night and must say that it turned out better than I had expected. Now to mold 3 more.
    Thanks,

Second Bismarck turret is in the drying stage at this time. Tomorrow morning I should be able to pull it out of the mold.
    Thanks,

Just checked the second turret. Pulled the inner mold out to help the turret dry. The turret is still in the outer mold. I should be able to remove it in a couple of hours. I installed some foam in turret #1 and trimmed it this morning. The foam will allow the turret to float if it is knocked off durring battle.
By the way, what's the white glue for?
    Thanks,

Third Bismarck turret pulled from the mold. They seem to get better with each one.

Hey Powder, I have the last of the turrets drying. What I hope to do is take a number of pictures showing the different steps it takes to make the turret. Then try to figure out how to post them on RCN. Taking a series of pictures of the turrets in different stages may help someone.

    Guys,
I tried to load the pictures on RCN but, was unable to. I did load them on the Treaty Yahoo site. I forwarded them to Mikey to see if he would have any luck posting them here.

I may give that a try. Does Photobucket require a membership or anything?
