Hello, my name is Doug, I currently have one vessel right now (an Iron Duke). I am looking to build another ship and was considering either the HMS Exeter or a USS Atlanta. I am more of a beginner and was wondering what people have said about the two ships. I am looking to have more than one ship so I could battle with friends but also would like a small faster ship as well to battle with. Does anyone have any preferences or opinions of the two?

    Respectfully,

    Doug

If you want fast and zippy cruiser action, go with the Atlanta.

Another plus is the Atlantas are the second prettiest cruisers of WW2. Hippers are #1.

What about the Exeter? Any opinions on it or is the Atlanta generally a better ship?

Exeter is a fine ship, but longer and slower. A bit wider and can be heavier, so easier to build.

Exeter has more internal space to work with and is a more stable gun platform. Plus it has a great history too and went down fighting and was involved with the Graf Spee Action. Atlanta you need to keep the top side weight as light as possible for stability. Both are great models for combat. Exeter would be probalby easier to build.

...and when I say that Exeter is slower than Atlanta, keep in mind that it's faster than any battleship. Only light cruisers and destroyers could outrun you. Wanted to clarify that.

Atlanta is a tough ship to build and keep it under weight. I suggest you look at the batteries you want to use and then decide the ship that will fit the weight. Check out the build section for an Atlanta ship.
