    Hello all,
Just found this forum and its just what ive been looking for! been in the hooby for 12 years and have flown many planes and helicopters but never something as rewarding as this........I saw a battle one time out at bomber field in monnaville tx but was too young to start( I think)

Now trying to get some of my family and friends involved to this sport......would like to know if there are any battles or clubs in the sugarland, missouri city, houston tx area???

    Thanks
    Paul:)

There are several people in the Houston area. I'll send a couple contacts.

    Thanks for the welcome,

Contacted a few locals trying to find battles that might be coming up.
just sent off for bobs how to video......looking at building a light or heavy cruiser( battleship one day) I take it that those are fast gun ships?
having trouble finding rules for the battles.

    The rules are at:
    http://www.mwci.org/rules.shtml
Don't worry too much about the combat rules right away. You'll learn much more and way faster standing pond side than reading rules. Look over the construction rules. Most of them will not make sense but we'll help you along. Ask lots of questions, take the advice of the long time battlers. Steal their good ideas, leave the crazy stuff for latter.

But, nothing beats a bear head with a rotating cheese hat.

    Hello,

After much searching I think I found my first build.... Just to keep it simple I'm going to get the French golo kit from mark just to get my feet wet....then maybe his baltimore kit or a light cruiser from BC, having a tough time finding battle dates here in Houston, are there any websites for Houston area to look at?

    Thanks
    Paul

I'm sure they have not pIcked any dates yet as we are all getting ready for nats. If you get in touh with Johnny he'll let you know when the next one is.

We use the event page at MWC Website, http://www.mwci.org/eventlist.shtml for all events in Houston. If there is anything going on at all (except last minute H and H ranch access) the info will be posted. We then send notifications to the Region4 and Members lists at the MWC. You can be a member of the region4 list as a non-member. I am planning to go to h and h tomorrow but its sloooooooooooooow going. I spent 2.5 hours trying to figure out the hold light on my AR600 reciever... now it works.. scary. I will probably make it out there around lunchtime maybe 1pm.

After Nats we can have a build session either at my place or Doug Hunt's and you can see the boats in person. We can also do standby days at H and H and you can drive my cruiser around.

I just sent off the request packet to Rosenberg to use their Lake.. lets hope they like it.. AND its not too deep or filled with dangerous critters, or gators.. or GATOR GARS!!
