    Dear Treaty members,
Since the inception of Treaty style combat one thing that has always been in the forefront of what we stand for: to be honest and upfront with our membership. Sometimes we have been successful and sometimes we have failed in this task. We have wanted to have what some would say is an a-political group. In other words politics are kept to a minimum and the combat is fun. I like this definition of politics: “poli” - means many and “tics” – blood sucking creatures. I think we all agree that politics will suck the life out of any group no matter how big or how small. Nobody likes or wants politics it but when some decide they want to push the guidelines within a group, politics is what you unfortunately have. This is a hobby and it is suppose to be fun not stressful.
Treaty was structured so that the general ideals would be preserved throughout the years and we could have a good, structured set of rules with a minimum of grey areas so all people regardless of technical know how can build and battle a ship of their choosing in a family friendly environment that all would be proud of. Slower speed, lower rate of fire, lower pumping capacities, no counting damage and less damage to ships was what Bob Amend, Mike Deskin and Eric Noble envisioned when this group started back in October 2006. Through the years I’d say we've been successful on the water.
This leads me to the main point. Over the years our website has been owned by one person with several selected individuals (Founders, Admirals Board, etc.) being moderators on the site. We have asked the owner to make the now Admirals Board owners of the site so we can share the ability to alter/guide the site with the ever changing requirements of r/c combat. Unfortunately, Bob is unable to transfer control of the site at this time.
I think all would agree the governing body within a group needs to have control of the flagship site that is used to conduct its business and communications. So with that, after much discussion we the Admiral’s Board has unanimously agreed to transfer all business, postings and other communication to another Yahoo site. This new site is owned by all three members of the Admiral's board. This arrangement allows for flexibility in that one person is not responsible for everything on the site, and provides redundancy in case real life interferes and an admiral is forced to step aside, so someone can be raised into his place.
Below is the link to that site for those who chose to change but as of today the Admiral’s Board: Buddy Friend, Mike DeMarco and Eric Noble will be leaving the original Treaty Yahoo site and conducting our business on the site linked below. We apologize for any inconvenience but we have reluctantly decided that this step is in the best interests of the group moving forward. We hope that you'll join us on the new website and continue to grow Treaty with us.
If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact Mike DeMarco (crzyhawk@gmail.com), Buddy Friend (battleshipbud@windstream.net) or Eric Noble (boatmeister@hotmail.com) for any clarification.

It seems that the old site has been deleted.
