Well crazy_pilot1277, the answer to your question depends on which club you want to join. There are many clubs out there, playing by several very different sets of rules. There is no single almighty ship that is perfect for beginners, but each ruleset does have a few ships that are recommended for rookies like you for their being reasonably powerful, survivable, and low-cost.
