    Greetings.
So while hunting around on youtube a few weeks ago I came across a few videos of some previous competition battles. Who knows how I actually ended up there because as I recall I started clicking sidebar videos and wound up there. Ever had that happen to you.

And well now I'm rather a bit interested.
Was wondering if there were any new england clubs that I might touch base with.

I've never done RC boats before but I do have a plethora of RC aircraft and ground vehicle parts I could salvage from old projects.
The hulls don't look too hard to fab up myself, at least ones for the IRCWCC rules.
Biggest problem is the guns, but it seems most of these groups play in the spring and summer so thats a few months to get a couple hundred together to make a ship.

But I'm a total newb on this topic so if anyone could point me in the direction of some newbie friendly stuff, that'd be nice.

Hi there! Welcome to the most fantastic addiction

There are folk in the New England area, some will probably drop in. @thegeek probably knows more specifically who is in the area.

Until you can get to a build session or event, you may find lots of interesting stuff in the Warship Builds and the Stem to Stern sections. @Bob also has a DVD that has introduced many people to the fine art of warship construction. Hope that helps some, for sure feel free to keep asking questions though.
