I know this does not pertain to rc naval combat, but does anyone know where I can find plans for ocean liners? More specifically the RMS Titanic, the RMS Empress of Ireland, and the RMS Mauretania.
What scale plans are you looking for? What are you wanting to do with the plan, i.e., scratch build a ship? Are you looking for free plans or purchasing a set?
This can pertain to RC Naval Combat. I had entertaind thoughts of building the USS Lafayette, ( The French liner SS Normandie that ws in NY Harbor when WW2 broke out.) She is big fast and would have been armed with four bb cannons. I am sure that it would take forever to sink her!
Depends how much you want to spend. I believe Goff or Taubmans has plans for a couple of those. But they really aren't that great, and may not have enough ribs (so you'll need to extrapolate them or cad model it whichever you find easier). Or, you can try for the Titanic (http://www.titanic-plan.de/start_e.html) Robert Hahn's plan set, probably the best you can get for that ship. For the Mauretania, I believe you can get a set of RMS Lusitania (sistership) plans from http://www.gla.ac.uk/services/archives/shop/shipplanpacks/.
I was thinking 1/144 scale, but any will do. And I was thinking to scratch build, free or purchased plans will work.
I may have plans for the queen Mary on my external drive. Its not one of the droids you're looking for, but might be interesting.
