To those of you who knew him I am saddened to report the passing of Wreno Wynne. It occurred last Friday the 20th of December. From what I know he passed peacefully during an afternoon nap. He was a good friend who was always full of encouragement and enthusiasm. I will miss our energetic conversations that frequently highlighted new incredible possibilities in the world of model ship combat. It was a privilege for me to call him a friend. He will be missed.

I spoke to him many times on the phone and the one time I met him in person in Dallas he greeted me with a big hug and parted with one as well. His spirit and energy and enthusiasm was easy to catch and he seemed to love talking about boats. I wish his family the best.

His loss is felt deeply here as well, I spoke to him via phone on occasion and counted him as a friend, and as an honarary Newcastle Battle Squadron member.

My condolences and sadness upon hearing the news. I never knew him personally but anytime someone from this hobby passes on I feel like a member of my family has passed.

For some reason the loss of Wreno hit me hard. I never met him in person, but he was very generous with his time and enthusiasm helping me with my radio issues (among others) both on forums and by email. Very sad to know that I won't see him till we're both pondside Above, where there are no weeds to foul our props and the lake is only 3 feet deep, with lakeside BBQ for feasting at lunch. Hopefully, he's saving us all a spot with good shade.

Godspeed, Wreno. Fair winds and following seas.

I'm sorry to hear of his passing. I don't remember much from back in the day, but he always seemed to come off with a good spirit and just plain friendly.

It's unavoidable as time passes, that friends will move on ahead of us. Just another reason for peace among pond-fighters. Too late to get things right when bad things happen.

I hope his family is secure and at peace through this and the time to come. Keep the memories alive!
