I don't have any direct experience with that setup, but it does look decent. The premade cables are a big plus and the TB6600 drivers are pretty common and should have no problem driving NEMA 23s.

Are you building your own or are you going to buy a pre-built system? Recently Sparkfun.com came out with a complete router system you may want to check out.

I see Sparkfun is selling the Shapoko router which started on Kickstarter. It's a nice design but only has a 16" x 16" cutting area. I'm working up my own design with a 2' x 4' area.

I have been planning to repurpose the motors from the Ormerod2 (which sucked horribly after early hopes) to make a CNC router using a nice trim router that's been sitting in the box since I got it for the purpose. The PiBot package look slike it will make this much easier. I'm about half as ambitious as Herr Tyng, looking at cutting 12"x48" plywood.
