Hye guys have you noticed the picture on the front page changes! MAN how cool! I have to say the pics are the best I have ever seen on model ships!
Thanks..that would be mine. I love adding detail to combat ships. I enjoy it even more when it's blasted off. Morbid I know but it looks great on film in slow motion. I've learned a lot of ballistic theorey trying to figure out how a bb came in .. richochet off whatever to end up taking a crew figures head off at in his location at the top of the mast. Also learned that a mixture of goop and Ca makes an incredibly strong bond but elastic at the same time. I rarely lose detail most of it stays aboard. A lot of the material on Yamato is BB proof.Planes and lifeboats are removed prior to battle. I had a N scale Toyota on board and it took a direct hit. The body of the car and the chassis went flying and both sank. I recoved the body but not the chassis. THe car went flying about 3 feet off the deck. Funny though the cows managed to survive the battles.
Well you have certainly given me a goal to shoot for (pardon the pun). I need to get my basic skills down first though.
I think a lot of them were purchased locally from Maritime Hobbies in Halifax. They sold loose 1/150 scale figures in the store. I think N scale works well. I had some cows and horses on the South Carolina. It even had a lady on a swing beteen the two stacks.
Most were on Yamato and I purchased more in N scale- railroad station workers. They work out to be 5ft 5 in tall in 1/144.
