    Hey gang.
I was wondering if anyone has tried to plati-dip super structure pieces. I am thinking of doing my SS out of foam, but I am worried about durability. Does anyone have any input? Here is what I am wondering:
Does it look good, or does it make the superstructure piece look like a blob of rubber?
Does it hold up to BB hits?
    Is it too heavy?
    Does it dissolve the foam?
Any info would be fantastic. Thanks all!

I haven't tried it, but I suspect it would look pretty blobby since you'd lose any sharp corners.

What ship are you looking at this for?

Very blobby and very heavy. Better off with a coat of epoxy resin, maybe even some fiberglass if you're really worried about getting shot up. Even that would be thinner, lighter, and hold more detail than the tooldip.
