I have been searching around the internet looking for a place to buy aircraft/ marine grade plywood. I am looking for both 1/8" and 1/4" or 3mm and 6mm. Minimum 3plys for 1/8" and 5plys for 1/4". The local hobby shops never have anything bigger than 12" by 24". I want at least 4' by 4' sheets. Suggestions?

The last source I bought sheet plywood from was Wicks Aircraft Supply out of Illinois. They have a good selection of wood types and plys. The birch aircraft grade stuff:

The next time I'm going to try Aircraft Spruce and Specialty our of Georgia just south of Atlanta.

Shipping for a sheet, even a 4' x 4' sheet, was somewhat expensive. I suggest going with 2' x 4' sized sheets to keep shipping cost down for oversized packages.

    Found a great source for Baltic Birch 5ply 1/4" (6mm) and 3 ply 1/8" (3mm).

He is willing to rip almost any size. I have 2 sheets- 30"x54" of 1/4" and 2 sheets- 30"x54" of 1/8". The odd length was just enough for my purposes without getting the extra UPS fees for being over 60" long (gotta think about added dimensions due to packing material). Total cost with shipping $128!!
    1 standard 4'x4' sheet 1/4" thick= 2300 in/sq @ $100+- (without shipping)
    2 30"x54" sheets 1/4" thick= 3240in/sq @ $55 (without shipping)
That makes this wood almost 2.5 times the value of most resources I have seen.
