I'm considering having a local laser cutting job shop run a few kits of parts for my old plans of the Russian orfey class destroyers. If anyone is potentially interested in a kit if/when I have a batch run, let me know. Due to the sensitivity to mass of such a small hull, I'm probably going to have the parts cut from lite ply or hard balsa (to be covered with 1oz fiberglass after assembly).

Are you adding any extra depth to the hull?

You forgot an option for 'Maybe if I talked myself into one to sit on the shelf alongside the other that I use to show rookies and potentials why a destroyer is hard" :/

The PDFs posted in the resources section did have the extra 3/8 allowed, if memory serves.

And yes, mine is still sitting on the shelf, ridiculously close to completion. I just haven't had the drive to get back at it. I need to get motivated so I can finish out the build thread I started, if for no other reason.....

Yikes, I thought they didn't. Pretty sure I built mine to those and when I taped up the sides and floated it at scale weight, I definitely felt like it could use more depth. I should finish the build, I'm capable of it now moreso than before, but I think I'd be honestly afraid to run it on open water.

She'd still rather have a battleship than a coast guard cutter.

I tried to put mine on the open water once, but immediately hit a patch of algae. It spun one of the props off when I tried to back out of it. Loosing the prop reminded me that I never loctited them on.
