I assume you don't want dents, right? There are several ways to prevent dents, depending on what your gun barrels are made of. I personally like using low-tolerance barrels, so that a dent or two (or three or four) won't stop your ship from fighting. Another method is to use extra-sturdy thickwall stainless steel barrels that won't get dented in the first place. Lastly, if you really don't mind the ugly appearance and are too lazy to use a better barrel, you can put rubber tubing over the barrel to protect it. That doesn't protect the tip of the barrel from direct fire, but it's 99% protection with just a layer of latex. Oh my, this thread could easily be misinterpreted...
so something like stainless steel barrels from B.C. dont need protection. could i get the stainless steel tube form McMaster-Carr. if so part # would help.when it comes to the .004 and .006 stuff i dont know ty
The stainless will dent also in fast gun, seen it happen. I got some thinner plastic hose at Ace hardware, just take a barrel with you and fit to size.
