Do I use a esc for pump control? I do have the BC control board. Do I use a separate battery for the pump?
Its up to you? Is this a brushed motor pump? If yes, a pump switch (like a BC pump switch, or the switch on a BC multi-board) will work just fine. You can use an ESC if you wanted to be able to throttle the pump up and down...but its not necessary. If this is a brushless motor pump, then an ESC is mandatory. As for separate battery for the pump, some build their boats this way, yes. Others dont. It's a personal flavor kind of thing.
