First, did that sound like a bad anime to anyone else? Somewhat more importantly, if memory serves me right, the Yamato's 5-inch AA guns were dual-purpose, and could also be used in anti-ship warfare; they certainly had the depression to be able to do that. Would they 5-inchers be allowed to be used in Big Gun?
Darren, are you forgetting something? The cutoff is 3" (75mm) for Big Gun. BTW No, I thought Uchuu Senkan Yamato was cool. The first and second seasons were great, I highly recommend them. I haven't seen the 3rd season yet. Everything after that (movies, sequels, etc) couldn't live up to the originals, though. I'd love to build a Big Gun Uchuu Senkan Yamato
So if someone could find the room to shove all the accumulators (Good luck with that. Really.) one could shove a total of 9 1/4" cannons (on easily-rotatable axes), 12 .177" cannons on easily rotatable axes, and 12 .177" cannons on somewhat more fixed axes if I wanted the side rotational mounts, or 9 1/4" cannons and 6 .177" cannons on rotatable axes with 24 .177" cannons on fixed axes? Got to say, if someone could pull it off, they deserve the withering hail of BBs they can unleash (and likely will recieve in due turn).
Yepper, in BIG GUNS you can arm everything that is over 3". The Yamato just might be big enough to pull it off!
So how do torpedoes work in BG? If it's one cannon per tube then the Kitakami would be formidable with 10 quad launchers (if it could be built to scale). http://www.aeronautic.dk/Warship Kitakami.htm http://www10.ocn.ne.jp/~kansen/kitakami.htm
Yes, you're allowed one armed barrel per tube. Some clubs, like the WWCC, have a maximum number you're allowed to arm, because ships like Kitikami can break the game. A 30-tube Kitikami contributed to the collapse of the SCBG, and other clubs took the warning.
