So I posted in General and Jstod mentioned maybe I should start a build thread.

To Clarify, I don't have any intention to 'arm' the RC Boat . I just -adore- the Detail and the size Big Gun ships are, that and it was fun to watch Big Gun Videos. I am more interested in the Victorian Era Steam Navy ships, due to their elegant ram prows etc.

So what would you all suggest for some one who has issues changing oil in his car? I have considered paying a hobbyist to make a functional boat for me even. This boat would be used in a pond near my house, so I could just carry it about 3 blocks and use it.
For me it's more the -detail- and the size, not to mention the fact these are warship that appeals to me over those two bit plastic hydroracers. I want to at least -pretend- I'm in command of a warship :)

PS: I'd love to have a decent RC Boat of the Russian Cruiser Novik of the Russian Imperial Navy, launched in 1900.

Well, first off, welcome aboard Corath! Second, do you want to build a ship? Like they say, " A man can do anything if he sets his mind to it".
It's not all that hard, you just have to understand what your doing. Plus they're lots of people on here that can help you if you get in a corner.
I have access to a few warship plans that have very prominent ram prows.
So if you want to build your own ship, I can post a link to the plans.

Well it seems I have to! Though I'd prefer to find pre cut hulls, but I've poured over Battlers Connection and Striker models and didn't see any thing that was really Pre WW1. Seems alot of these ships are WW2.

I also looked through the sale section, but I wasn't expecting to find a complete ship for sale, but it did give me an idea of how much these things will be :)

Oh that's a very beautiful vessel Tom Davies. Do you know roughly how much they run?

In your other thread you had stated that you want something about four feet long.
The plans are out there, you could just scale it out to have a four foot long PT boat.
You could put a lot of detail on that!

(My first thought with a PT that size, would be to install Paint ball guns in the torpedo tubes!!!!)

By building a non combat boat you do not have to worry about cutting windows in the side of a fiberglass hull.
It would be a quick build.

RC Gear, props, motor(s), drive shaft(s), Batteries and you would be ready to go!

I have plans for a German Schnellboot. A four foot long one of those would be neat looking. I also have plans the HMS King Edward VII.

Here is the the Schnellboot plans.
