Anyone know who is trustworthy? I see some dealers are taking the money and not getting back to their customers. Can anyone recommend a place to buy. No one is even answering my emails where they sell ships.
battlersconnection is real good help me alot um working on 2 ships (konig & vdt) started in aug. jest need guns .so thay get you what you need fast (if not in stock about 2-3 weeks)
I emailed him saturday. I got an answer by this morning. I forget when it said the email was sent. Never the less, he replied expediciously.
Rick at BC was quick at returning the email I sent for a Lion hull also. I got the hull and hardware kit within 3 weeks of making the initial order. Beautiful hull, I recommend their work. Mike D
Depends on what ship you want. E-mail Rick at battlers connection. The Washington I'm gonna get could be mailed out in a week. apparently he keeps ships in stock.
Rick got back to me and is saying the Des Moines is a nice ship. He thinks I should visit someone shop to get a feel but I just can't, is it necessary? Do any of you recommend a ship for a starter or is the Des Moines a nice starter.
If your using IRCWCC rules, the Des Moines is a bit of a target. It is the same speed as fast battleships, with out sidemounts or turning abilty. A better bet might be Von Der Tan. It has good manuverabilty, good fire power, and enough speed to play with the allied boats.
It is a nice starter ship, but it is a large cruiser. Most people set it up with the tripples in the stern, and just back in and fire, then run when a BB comes your way, but some soon get tired of this, and build a class 4 or large next. A class 3 can only have bow or sterns, no sidemounts. What it comes down to is do you want to hit and run, a class 3 Des Moines is fine, but if you want to hug and slug, a class 4 or larger is required, like the Vonn Der Tann, which is a great starter ship to learn hugging and slugging. Ask Rick what hulls he has available, that way you can get the hull sooner if you want. A NC, or Scharnhorst are great ship in MWC, and IRC he might have one of those available now.
WOW! Do I want to Hug and Slug? Now that's a new term. I think so! Now that will put me toward another type ship! That's OK, better to learn now before I waste my money.
For the MWC battling Des Moines is a good first ship as it is 23 sec vs the 24 sec BBs. In the IRCWCC they have the cruisers still at 24 sec, so there is no sense having one, it will get pasted. A VDT is good in both. Chris K has one and is close to you.
That I do, actually next spring hopefully Ill have two but thats a different story. Anyway Ill shoot you an email Ron.
During a battle someone told me the ships don't sink but only go down to the deck. Is that true or do they really go down like in your movies. Who go and gets the ships if they sink? The losing team.
They really sink, all the way to the bottom. If/when you sink, you get to go get your boat back. The boat counts as "sunk" when the deck is awash cause sometimes its close if the boat is going to make it off the water or not before sinking so thats what we use to decide if the boat was sunk or not. Most of the time they actually go down, which is pretty cool to watch.
