Hey, I'm studying up on the rules for the Nagato I got from Matt last weekend. Nagato is a class 6 boat, so I can have 5 guns and a 1 unit pump. Nagato has 4 main turrets, so I'm thinking of having 1 rotating bow gun, 1 fixed side mount to port, 1 fixed side mount to starboard, and dual sterns that are either fixed or pivoting. Nagato is over 720' long, so she falls under rules 6b and 6e: So I can have a rotating bow gun, as long as I never have more than two firing cannons in the same quadrant. That seems straight-forward. What is confusing me is the portion of rule 6b that I highlighted in bold above. Does the bold portion apply only to side quadrants, or to any quadrant? If this applies to any quadrant, than I can't have dual sterns on Nagato, which seems rather odd as I thought any boat could have dual sterns as long as she was allowed to have at least two firing cannons. I think the intent of highlighted section was to disallow twin cannons in a single turret for side quadrants only. After all, twin cannons in one turret for side quadrants is only allowed for the BBs covered by rule 6c. But the exact wording of the rule says I can't have twin cannons in a turret in any quadrant... So can I have dual sterns or not? Thanks, Carl
Yes Carl You can have the rotate gun, yes you can have dual sterns.Yes it was set up to avoid dual guns in a single turret, only accecptions were like the big BBs , Iowa < Yamato, Richlieu. But they useally are fixed turrets Buddy
