Does anybody have downloadable plans or some place to get them for this ship? I am about finished reading The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors, and it has me hooked on building one of these ships.:)

I don't see any problem with that. I don't plan on starting it right away anyway, just seeing if anybody had them. :)

Aye, I guess my mind is a little warped.  Though that's not all that bad. Seems like you and me like the same types of ships. :)
So, nobody has plans so far?

I have not gotten that far yet. Busy working on a book and have had no time for boats other than forum browsing. I was going to go with one fo the fiberglass hulls that are available. It may only be armed with two bb guns but it will look good.

I have plans for the long-hull DE's, not sure if the Samuel B is one of those.

Roberts was a WGT class with the low bridge that makes it look fast even if it wasn't. :)

Tugboat, what scale are the plans?

Oh, did you get all those plans I sent you a while back?

I did, been busy though. Some of the plans are copied from copyrighted sources and I don't want to post them on the forums. I already had some of them on my hard drive, they were just in the not-to-share section.

I scaled the plans to 1/144, but scaling them to 1/96 is easy enough. And they're not copyrighted (US Navy plans, and so, open-source), so no issues sharing.

That's too bad. Are they all copyright? I recently found some non copyrighted Fletcher class destroyer plans I'll have to send to you.

So, how do you plan on getting the plans from you to me?

No they are U.S. Government documents which as long as any security clearances have been removed are in the public domain. I can't think of any security issues involved in a 70+ year old destroyer escort.

I actually was talking about the plans I had sent to Tugboat, but that did clear up a few questions.

Tugboat, would you be able to scale those plans to 1/96 for me? I'd do it myself, but I have no accurate way of doing it.

There's an Anatomy of the Ship series book on the Roberts. I highly recommend it.
