The last ship model I expected to see at the RN Naval museum, the Scharnhorst.
    Enjoy

That wasn't the Scharnhorst I was thinking about when you said Scharnhorst. :) Really good looking. Thanks for sharing, Steve, and enjoy your trip. ;)

Of course they'd have that one. The British remember that Scharnhorst quite well. The sequel, though... shared neither the original's stunning success nor its spectacular defeat. Were it not such a good-looking ship, the DKM version would probably be completely forgotten by now..

'Enjoy' doesn't begin to cover it, Steve. As I am drawing up the 3D files to print the SS and other topside detail for Gneisenau, this is next to priceless :) I am beyond happy. Thank you.

The photos seem to have outright disappeared, could you relink/reattach/etc?

I'd argue that HMS Glorious, HMS Acasta, and HMS Ardent might disagree.
There's also the channel dash. I'm not as familiar with the elder Scharnhorst's career, but I'd say that the DKM version did pretty well considering the horrible odds and design issues it had to face. And yes, it's one of the best looking ships of either war. But they did stick it to the Brits a few times.
