I was wondering when it comes to naming the ship, does it have to be a name from that class or the plans used, or can you give it a name of your choice?

Depends....try to avoid any name which people may find offensive and try to be semi historic.
If the class of ship was named after insects for example....try for an insect name...
That is just my advice anyway.

Yeah, to steal a name from an ongoing joke in my FPS gaming clan, the USS SausageMcGrundel69 would probably be seriously frowned upon. On the other hand, building one of the Invincible-class battlecruisers and calling it HMS Inedible would probably fly.

Quite so IIRC one of the uncompleted "R" was to be Resolution.

There actually was an HMS Resolution that was part of the Revenge class, so no problem there...

I was wondering if yall could give me some advice on this build. I'm not sure which servos and how many I would need. Also since the HMS Resolution, a Revenge class Battleship, had four props and rudders on the original ship, is there a limit or do I add all four to the model?

4 rudders? Nah, she's got 2 of them, one ahead of the props and one aft of them.
Edit: I looked at your intro message and I see tht you're pretty close to me, so go to that message and I've posted a link to the rules on our website. Look them over, and then ask questions :)

I'm going to assume you're building for fast gun (MWC or IRCWCC). You're building a 5-unit battleship, meaning you're probably going to have 4 guns and 1 pump. Depending on what level of tech (read $$) you're going with, you will need the following:
Radio & Receiver (at least 4 channel, ideally 6 or more for flexability)
Servo's: Minimum 1(rudder). If you're staying with "basic tech", then you'll also need one for throttle, and 1-2 for operating guns & pump
If you go this route, you're using the servo's to operate microswitches (forward-reverse throttle, pump on/off) or push valves on/off (gas to guns).
Note you can mix & match. If you buy an ESC for your throttle control, then you eliminate 1 servo & two microswitches. If you go with solenoid operated valves, you either operate them using microswitches & servo (vice push valves) OR a "firing circuit" of the type sold by Battler's Connection or Strike models. These are electronic cards that hook directly to your radio receiver & trigger the solenoid valve.
So to sum up for R-class: Minimum 1 servo, max 4.
    Hope this helps
