    Hello,

I am brand new. I was wondering if you are allowed to modify you ships? Add another turret? Or do they have to be as close to historical as possible?

Simple answer, no imagination ships allowed. If you are not going to battle in any club and this is for yourself, do what you want.

Only rules set that allows making your own design (within limits) is the "Steampunk" one. And it's still in the prototype stage....

Thank you. I seen a couple of ships with four main turrets and was wondering if I could put another on an Iowa class battle ship. And still be legal.

What you are thinking of is a Montana class battleship (Basically a lengthened Iowa with 4 turrets). Several were laid down during World War II but not completed. They are legal in some of the Big Gun formats, and Maybe Treaty format.
