never used sigment or nitrate dope. regular old lacquer works just fine, and its about 1/5th the price.

Does the lacquer dry fast enough for patching? We use sigment for patching.

It dried plenty fast for patching. Have used it for the past two years with no problems.

I've been in the hobby since 2014 and have always used lacquer to patch. Dries just fine.

Back when dinosaurs walked the earth and people weren't all that concerned with what they smelled (i.e. freon days and scratch built ships\1980's) Tom and John Jass showed up with a Rodney that was painted in it's wild camouflage scheme from Normandy landings. Being former airplane guys they introduced everyone to Aerogloss dope and that was used for patching. The nice by-product was you could patch with a color coat and no one would know how damaged you were. Dried really quick.

You always knew it was battling season! The smell of Ambroid and Aerogloss in the air!!
