NEW - SODAK Wood Hull with 90% completed Superstructure, props and Rudders included. Has magnets for decking.... All wood sealed and even skinned! 150.00 plus S&H Only issue is that ship plans where 3/4" too tall. This ship will work great in big gun format or other that allows a couple more pounds.... It is floating at her waterline, but just a little too much freeboard... Has Shafts and rudders installed. This ship just needs your running gear and guns.... (I need the internals that are in it now) Turns very very well.... this is the ship in the video.
It's pretty easy to shorten a wood hull ship. I did it to a cruiser that the builder put the 3/8" deck on top of the full height ribs making everything 3/8" too tall. Was just a few hours of work, way easier than I thought it would be.
I had it crated this morning. Cost $69.00 to crate up. They pack very well and the box can be used for years as it is thick, double walled cardboard. Here is pics of whats for sale... It is just the hull, superstructure, rudders, shafts/props, and main turrets. The secondaries are NOT included. All the guns, motors, servos, batteries, etc... are NOT included as I need them for another build.
yepper, dam plans..... good ship, I just cant believe I didnt notice the difference till it was skinned. Very noobish mistake!
Out of curiosity, where (vertically) did you make the cut, and how'd you reinforce the ribs afterwards?
We cut it at the desired distance from the sub deck first. Then cut the tiny left over pieces off if the sub deck. We put epoxy at the joint and drilled two wire brads trough the sub deck and into the rib. Then cut the top of the brad off with a dremel. We left the first 3-4 ribs as the had a flair in them we didn't want to cut off.
Sounds like an excellent way to shorten a wood boat. A Dremelator would make short work of such a project.
