I believe this has already been explained to you on the OAF site (guestbook), but hopefully if somebody else would care to again, you'll bookmark it, maybe print it out and keep it with your notes so you dont forget.

Repeating yourself over and over again is considered annoying.

Nikki, when you ask the same thing on several boards, people view it as "I didn't believe what you said on OAF, so I'm going to ask again on RCNC" and it can be viewed as a bit insulting. It's a bit impolite, as people are volunteering their time to help you, and often don't know that you have asked the same thing in several places, and they've spent their time writing up an answer that says the same thing other people have already said.

    Nikki,
If your radio supported a servo/switch throttle, it should support an ESC (like the MTroniks), since servos and ESCs use the exact same control signals. You should read the article "ESCs, Lessons Learned" in the ntxbg.org knowledgebase, by the way.
However, one thing to be aware of - if your radio does not have adjustable endpoints on the channel, you have no way to set the set the maximum speed down on the ESC from the radio - you will have to adjust your maximum speed by some other means. There are tons of discusssions about adjusting speed on boats without ESCs, and you should try searching the archives.
It is always good form to do a little looking and research before asking a question that has been answered dozens of times. It also helps you to refine your question - the better the question, the more likely the better the answer you will receive.
For example, "how do I build one of these ships" is kind of hard to answer and probably get the sound of crickets chirping in the distance.
While, on the other hand, a question like "I have a USS Whatever, and have Speed 400 motors geared down 3.1:1, and will be using a 1.25" prop on both. I have a choice of a 25 pitch or 45 pitch props available from my source. Any suggestions on which will get me up to my allowed speed of XXX with good performance?" is much more likely to get you a good answer and perhaps a lively discussion of the trade-offs.
As for setting up your MTroniks ESC, again, a little quality time with Google would give you the Mtroniks site and a note to enquiries@mtroniks.net would probably get you all the help you need in getting the ESC set up. Never needed to go there myself, as I just read and followed the instruction manual that came with the ESC.
The MTronics site, is, of course: www.mtroniks.net
    Cheers,

Setting the endpoints on an Mtroniks ESC when you don't have a programmable radio? Not easy, but do-able.

Fire up your radio, then turn on your ship.

While the two leds on the controller are flashing, press the set button on the controller.

    Here's the tricky bit:

Slowly push your throttle control forward till you reach your desired maximum RPM. You'll need to take a guess at this.

Slowly pull your throttle back till you reach your desired max reverse RPM. Another guess.

Put your throttle to neutral. Done. Repeat till you have your speed right. Once you have, Avoid ever pressing the set button again.

If you can borrow/buy/otherwise obtain a servo tester that shows Receiver outputs, you can remove the guesswork.

Nikki, you don't need to have a remote-operated pump, or lights.
Simply run the pump constantly or fit an auto pump switch and forget the lights.
Getting the boat on the water should be your first priority.
My first combat ship (a liberty) still uses the two-channel radio I bought 20 years ago for my long-deceased Tamiya buggy.
If I want lights on it, then I fit one of those battery powered christmas LED strings you can get cheap at any dollar store.
