I didn't see a speed rule in the Battlestations rule set. Can anyone explain them please?

EDIT: Sometimes, it is better to read threads too before posting the question. Heh. Which leads to another question: What RL speed is used to calculate the model speed? Trial speed? Speed listed in Conways? Etc.

I used Conways and the speed list from NTXBG when I made the list. I think we have gone to the 30 seconds = 30 knots rule now.

Yeah, I'll add it to the rules someplace. I need to make sure that they put in writing what we've talked about. They do for the most part, just need some checking. I also need to get some various thicknesses of balsa to do figure out drop tests.

Mike, the trials speed is used, as far as I know, unless that trials speed was below the minimum, in which case the minimum speed is used (mainly some of the predreads benefit from that).

Ah. Thanks Tug. I noticed a speed discrepancy in the French ship list compared to the trial speed of one of the ships. If it uses trial speed, then that may be my Battlestations ship. :)

I pick up the wood for my ship tomorrow. Construction starts next week!

Glad to hear you've got wood. With all these axis ships being built, we'll need some people with stiff... ah... upper lips, to oppose them!

Did you say what ship you decided on?
    I don't see it anywhere.

I think we decided to go with 33 knots= 33 seconds.
Because it was closer to the big-gun speed chart.
I could be wrong though. I am still trying to catch up on my reading the posts.

It has the advantage of being very easy to remember too.

    Hey guys,

What if Conways lists multiple trial speeds?

Mikey, I haven't mentioned which ship I'm building because I haven't quite settled on a ship yet. I thought I had chosen a ship and even got a set of plans printed, but now I'm looking at something else ...

Use the fastest. That would be my vote. Of coure you can't use the refit speed for a non-refitted version of the ship. Kongo's come to mind as an example. Or the Cavour's.
