I had the idea to rig my flag/colors to a small pulley on the mast and have the line make a loop going below deck to a small motor. The line will pass through a micro switch's lever. When the float switch for the secondary, larger pump kickes in, it powers the motor and lowers the flag. A lead ball swadged to the line will hit the lever on the micro switch and cut power to the motor. Cheap and easy, light weight too. Thoughts?
We had been talking about having a float mechanism to automatically strike one's colors at some water level in the hull. Of course, that prevents voluntarily striking without additional effort
