Find out what the diameter of the real one's propellers were, and scale it!

Hopefully you have a 144 scale planset, but if you don't... Look in libraries for reference books on the sub, if the diameter of the prop is stated, then you can multiply that measurement by the allowed scale oversize for your club to see what it is. So, let's say you are allowed a prop that is 50% oversize, and the prop diameter is 9 feet. 9 ft. to convert to 1/144, 1 inch equals 12 feet. 9/12 is 3/4 or .75 inches. A true scale prop would then be 3/4 inches in diameter. But say you want a larger prop .75 x .50 = .375 add this to .75 (the original diameter) and you get 1.125... This would then be the max allowable prop size for your boat.

    Hope that helps :)
