Hi there, i'm jorge. My son is very intrested in this hobby. I wanted to know if there were submarines in Small gun. If there are, Do they fire bbs or ball bearings?
Hmm... i know you! Im not entirely sure if submarines are aloud in small gun. If there were, i think they would fire bbs because that's the only amunition small gun uses. ( correct me if im wrong about this )
yes there are sub possable and the only ammo allowed is bb's most subs in samll gun are convoy ships or have on gun but have to surface to fire i havenet seen any pics of a working combat sub. We have one here in NABS that is for sale but it has some issues
A Sub would be cool in battle. How many guns can they have? Are they fast? How many 'torpedo tubes' can they have? sorry for all these questions...
lol np they can only have 1 gun and no pump there is a section on the rules on the mwc page http://www.modelwarshipcombat.org/rules.shtml (about 1/2 way down) as for the sub that one of our members has for sale i think it might be sold but its on the forum http://www.rcnavalcombat.com/rcnavalcombat/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=345 they are quight slow and not very combat effctive(unforchantaly un like big gun combat) also i would sigest that you read over the rules very well just so you know what the rules are and such, it will help out you very much
...And we said DESTROYERS where hard to build... A submarine is similar to a destroyer, but even harder. A submarine is smaller than a destroyer, and must be 100% watertight, even when submerged several feet. It's the sort of thing that even the most skilled ship-builders shudder about, and only the most daring even attempt. In fast gun combat, the result is usually difficult to use and not very reliable. Not to mention the fact that the crush depth of combat-legal balsa wood is only a few feet anyway, so if you make a mistake when diving your submarine will implode in a horribly violent, painful, and cold death in the murky depths. I'm not saying that you shouldn't build a combat submarine, but it's not a good idea for your first (or second, or third) project. I personally plan to build a japanese I-400 aircraft-carrying submarine for Big Gun combat, but not until after I've built a surface fleet with several battleships and destroyers first. For your enjoyment, here are a few photos of Big Gun submarines in action: http://www.westernwarshipcombat.com/gallery/album58/IMG_7914 http://www.westernwarshipcombat.com/gallery/album27/Nelson_I_400 http://www.westernwarshipcombat.com/gallery/album27/I_400
Now in order to sink a sub... all you have to to is hit it once and it's gone right? I doesn't have a bilge so If its got nothing to pump water out, it'll just keep coming in? And another thing... is it hard to retrieve a sub? seeing that there is no thether line to know where it is?
1st yes ur right no pump= 1 hit will sink as i belive the rule is that after a battle if the sub can surface on its own it counts a sunk. 2nd im not sure on how hard it would be to retrive but i belive it shouldent be that hard a even tho the sub can surface i belive most ppl make them so that it still stays boyent in the water even after pennatration other than that i would be as hard to find as a distroyer.
1) Aircraft carrying sub? Umm... Is that possible? 2) Does anyone have the exact amount of seconds on a sub they have? ( i am very convinced to not build a sub... Yet []
pew^3 if u'd check the rules http://www.modelwarshipcombat.org/rules.shtml you would see that a sub goes 28 seconds
Wow... A Bit slow. but i think the advantage of a sub would be that it can 'hide' from other ships...
No, they aren't very effective. The only reason to build one is for the person who just needs to push the technical envelope after having built everything else. What Carl said was no exaggeration. I have built two submarine hulls and they are tough tough suckers to build right. Even harder to add a gun.
