Welp, after i got off work today i finally had a little time to try and set my radio up more and put my battery pack together for Hindenberg. While airing up, i found i was leaking terribley. This turned out to be one huge leak comming somewhere under C turret. I disconnected that gun and plugged off the ends and the leaking stopped. All the plumbing has held up good, but i will need to take C turret out to figure out what the deal is. Anyway, with most of her functional i took Hindenberg and California to the pong to do some target practice. Which basically ment gunning down an unarmed california. I didnt have a camera for at the pond since i was in a hurry to sail around before it got dark. So i took a few when i got back. Here ya go. Above is a nice below the watlerline shot on USS Cali.
Ok, i need to work on my pictures.. When my mom gets back in town ill try and borrow her carmera since it is higher quality and can take very nice video as well. But anyway, i have a question. Im at a loss on how to hook up my single shot torpedoes. Im using the following on the reciever- throttle- forward/reverse elevator- fire main batteries rudder- rudder left/right alron- rotation Landing gear switch - 2 stage depression power- pump( it stays on when boat is powered up) Aux- nothing im still trying to figure out how to program it on the dx6i, its quite confusing but i guess thats my best bet on how to operate the torps. Thoughts anyone? thanks
That ship looks familiar. I think I've shot at it before. If I remember correctly, the original owner never really used the single-shot torpedoes. First, a few questions. What do your inputs for channel 5 and 6 look like? Is your landing-gear channel a 3-position switch? 2-position switch? What about this auxiliary channel? Is that a dial, a switch, or a button?
As I recall, that ship only has a single torpedo armed in the bow. It is a lot of effort and complexity for something that doesn't really add much to the combat abilities of the ship. Personally I wouldn't have put it in, but the original builder likes building unusual ships or putting in unusual gun configurations. You may want to consider leaving it alone until you fix the leak in C turret and get the rest of the ship working to your satisfaction.
I've found that mp7 ball assemblies sometimes need the little brass cap sanded so that it doesn't get stuck in the open position. Check to see if the plunger sometimes gets stuck... This can be intermittent, and a real pita. Also, if there are no spacers and the 15/32 32tpi end is too long, it is possible to screw the MP7A on too far and open the valve. Luck Mike
