uhm.... would you mind explaining how? I'm just thinking getting plans in 1/144 and building plank on frame would be alot easier... and to scale! most clubs have strict rules on how accurate things have to be to battle.
There are better boats than Bismark for a 1st boat. And if you must have one, getting a real set of plans would be the better option. In any case. Do some more reading. Try this stuff: http://www.scrapcombatships.com/commodore/tactics/tactics.html
If you are going to do it and your cash flow is low I wouldn’t waste your money on a placebo [V] I would put every spare penny into the real deal will get you here faster [^]
And the award for 'Best Use of Smileys in an Advice Thread' goes to... Monk! Seriously, that's gospel truth. Don't waste money on a practice run, get a real ship.
If you have tools, then you need wood and plans. You can down load free plans for French boats at: http://www.servicehistorique.sga.defense.gouv.fr/02fonds-collections/banquedocuments/planbato/planbato/listebato/listebato.php Profile Morskie is also a good source for information on many ships. You can find aircraft grade ply at: http://www.balsausa.com/html/products.html Or at your local hobby store should you be lucky to have one.
Helps if you can read Polish, though I think some of the newer editions have some English text. But if you just want to look at the pictures that should not be a problem.
i have built a konig and a VDT at the same time and the konig was much easyier to build then the VDT i think the konig would be a good beginner ship to build and it turns like a needle on a compass im practically doing donuts!
