*NB- I could not find how many torpedoes the Deutschland Class Panzerschiffe carried.
**NB- I excluded torpedo boats/Destroyers of less that 1000 tons displacement.
***NB - I am assuming no reloads. If I can find documentation that states otherwise I will change the table again.

Looks like 8 tubes in 2 quad launchers.

EDIT: Whoops, apparently you had that. Guess I should have read it ALL before I posted!

No problem. I do that all the time. I am sure they carried reloads but I have no idea how many.

A stab in the dark would be one full set of reloads. That fits with MOST of the WW2 era ships, and one would assume they were built to the same general doctrine. Obviously, that's a bit of a leap of faith though.

That seems reasonable. If a destroyer would ship a full set, it would be odd if a much larger ship did not.

But if anyone has a copy of Koop's POCKET BATTLESHIPS OF THE DEUTSCHLAND CLASS, would you check it and see if it tells how many torpedo reloads were carried.

Looking through Koop's, which leaves some to be desired in technical details on the torpedoes (v.good in other respects), I can't see how they would reload the torpedo launchers except with a tender or port facility. No reloads on deck, and the cutaways of the ship show no magazines anywhere near the launchers (or even any rooms big enough to be magazines). Also, storing torps belowdecks, inside the armor, would be contrary to standard naval practices at the time, which called for the highly volatile weapons to be stored outside the armored spaces. Sorry bubbas, but it's just 8 torps.

Koop's lists the weight allowance for torps at 21 tons, which would at most allow for 12 torps total, including those in the launchers. So there is a possibility for a few extra (more than 8 aren't listed anywhere), but I still can't find anything that would reload them, nor any space for carrying any beyond those in the launchers. So let's call it just 8 shots unless more info shows differently(as you already said :)
