    Should Treaty add torpedoes?
If yes then how many per class?
    How many max?
Should it be how many the captain can fit?
Should the torpedo be a bb, 1/4bb, or 1/4 rods?
    Only for destroyers?
Should they take up 1 unit on destroyers?

We already allow the class 1 ships to utilize a spurt cannon to represent the torpedo.

But that makes no sense why cant someone fit 16 spring powered torpedoes into a gridley class destroyer?

Well, a good reason is Treaty only uses BBs and not larger size ammunition.

Probably the main reason is the Treaty Founders envisioned using common fast gun ships in big gun style rules such as actual speeds vs speed by length, rates of fire, and limited pumping capacities. The idea was to reduce the damage normally seen in the fast gun clubs, yet still allow ships to sink while adding a more scale element to the battles.

16 cannons on a destroyer would certainly cause lots of excessive damage and probably be overpowered.

The biggest thing to remember is that Treaty is not Big Gun. One shot, one kill destroyers isn't something that fits into the Treaty vision.

Fitting all those torpedoes on something the size of a destroyer would be a very daunting task.

Can the spurt gun be pointed to the side?
Could a 15 round spurt gun be divided into 2 7 round spurt guns?

    Nope and no.

I think I see where you are trying to go ... sidemounted weapons for a destroyer. That isn't going to happen due to safety concerns of a tippy ship shooting above the horizon. Both Treaty and fast gun clubs have limited side mounted weapons to the larger wider ships because they tend to be far more stable than the narrow smaller ships.

I gotta agree with RichelieuBB here. Big Gun allows "torpedoes" on cruisers and destroyers because they fire a very small number of large-caliber bbs in an instant. The firing ship will rock like crazy from the recoil, but the bbs themselves will already be on their way long before the ship rolls above the horizon. Fast Gun cannons, even spurt guns, simply do not work the same way. Fire a side-mounted spurt gun on a Fast Gun cruiser or destroyer, and you get a very serious safety hazard.
