Another view of the stern. The 1" is from the very back of the stern. Put the hull up against the wall, top side down. Line it up at 90° to the wall and measure 1" from the wall where the hull is not touching the wall, move the solid line back the same distance the hull is from the wall. This seemed too tricky fire me so Bob H gave me some measurements that were better. I just have to find them and I'll post them.

That's usually how I mark mine. Are you going to mark off the 3/8" at the top for deck and subdeck? :)

The Des Moines is a very pretty ship with a nasty sting! Triple sterns make nice holes :)

I was going to use the bottom of the auto trim tape. Bob H told me that the plug was too tall so I marked off 3/8" and trimmed it. I've got that done and I've got more pictures to upload.

Sorry Tugboat for the long pause, been busy. I used the 3/8 auto trim and put that on after I trimmed down the plug. Was going to measure down on the inside of the hull to get the subdeck location.

This is from this summer, I put 16 lbs inside the hull and just placed the deck on top, them I got my level to see if the hull was floating level. I got a coloring pencil from my step daughter and marked the waterline. IMG_20140807_144809_612.jpg IMG_20140807_144833_021.jpg IMG_20140807_144905_623.jpg

Groovy. Time to drill out the corners of the windows, and get cutting!!

*Are you sure you want to build to a 16# weight?

Hi tugboat, I've actually got that windows done, just need to post them. Yeah, Bob H said that would be a good idea.

Is the 16lbs including the weight of the hull? It looks awfully low in the water.
