    His quoted horsepower number is FAR too low to come close to his stated speed of 27 knots with that size ship. 50,000 less than Iowa and 4 times the displacement gets 27kts?

    But it looks cool.

    He has more there. All kinds of variants for the Yamato class but other classes of ships as well. So if this model was built it would be a little longer than the Montana.

    Yeah a lot of cool ships here. Be fun to build as a RC combat Hypothetical Fleet.

    I'm okay with fanwanking, but it's got to come close to reality-based physics. I could see, for example, a catamaran helicopter carrier based on a pair of heavy cruiser hulls, with some guns and a VLS. I could not see a trimaran sea control ship based on yamatos or iowas. Too far from the possible to be acceptable fiction.

    Don't structural issues come into play with large catamarans? Though with the progress made in materials technology of late the could be more workable.

    I concur, I have never seen a good rendition of any of the Tillmans.
