While on the Strike Models website I came across an interesting ship I had never heard of before, the USS Wichita. She can be built on a Brooklyn hull, which are supposedly one of the easier ships to make, but she has 9 8 inch guns versus the Brooklyn's 15 6 inchers. Since it isn't feasible to arm 15 guns, wouldn't the Wichita be a good choice for an American cruiser?

A very graceful ship and it is a heavy cruiser. She would be a fun build and with triple stern guns could be lotsa' fun to battle in fast gun.

    Nice.

In biggun she'd be handicapped by her wimpy 8 inch guns, slow speed and lack of torpedoes.

I have built one. It is great to have something that no one has. I used the old swampworks, now strike hull to build her. I got the plans from George. As for triple sterns, in MWC she can not have them unless you don't have a pump. In MWC she is allowed 3 units. As for Big Gun, that I don't know, I am not involved in that group.
