Boomer are you ever planning to use a big ship go with a tried a true digital 6 channel from futaba or spectrum, they may cost more but they are a better radio, they also have multi model memory. The futaba has a 6 model memory and the spectrum has a 10 model memory. One radio for all your boats.

beware of the vex. It needs a new receiver and crystal to make it work. The receiver that comes with it is useless if it is the one in the robotics kit.
